Hugelkulture in Mediterranean climate
During a short visit to Portugal I managed to get some progress done on my regenerative project and attempted a hugelkultur. Hopefully by the time that I return in February 2020 I will see some progress. Hopefully the winter rainfall will add some moisture and help with the breakdown process.
I found some old logs lying around, and couldn’t resist attempting my first Hugelkultur. Hügelkultur is a horticultural technique where a mound constructed from decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass plant materials is later planted as a raised bed. I found ONE earthworm and it was like finding gold!
